Supported Formats and Browser Compatibility

Use the formats listed in the selected tool's upload area. A matching extension is necessary, but some formats also depend on decoding or encoding features available in your browser and operating system.

Extension and file contents must agree

Renaming a file from one extension to another does not convert it. A file named photo.jpg can still contain unsupported or damaged data. Use a real converter or export a fresh copy from the application that created it.

Browser-dependent formats

• Still AVIF decoding must be available before AVIF can be converted through a browser canvas.
• HEIC uses a dedicated client-side decoder, but unusual or damaged HEIC variants can still fail.
• Video and audio containers such as MP4 or MOV can contain different codecs. A supported container does not guarantee that every codec inside it can be decoded or encoded.
• Canvas-based image output depends on the formats the current browser can produce.

What to do

1. Check the exact supported formats shown in the tool.
2. Update your browser and operating system.
3. Try a broadly supported source such as JPG or PNG for images, or a common MP4/video and MP3/audio combination.
4. Export a fresh copy from the original application rather than changing the extension.
5. If a browser-specific operation still fails, use a trusted desktop application for that file.
