Overview

At EveryFileTool, privacy isn't a feature we bolt on - it's the foundation. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, what we don't, and the choices you have.

The short version: EveryFileTool's current file-processing tools run inside your browser. Files selected in those tools are not uploaded to or stored by EveryFileTool.

Your files

File conversion, compression and editing happen on your device using browser APIs, WebAssembly and client-side libraries. EveryFileTool does not receive a copy of the files you select in these tools.

  • Supporting downloads: some tools download code, language data, AI models or media-processing runtimes from EveryFileTool or a third-party content delivery network. These assets run in your browser; your selected file is not included in those downloads.
  • External content: tools that retrieve public content, such as the YouTube Thumbnail Downloader, send the public video identifier to that content provider so the requested content can be returned.

Because EveryFileTool does not receive files processed locally, it does not store them, use them to train models or sell them to third parties.

What we collect

To keep EveryFileTool running and improving, we collect a small amount of data:

  • Contact information - when you submit the contact form, we receive the name, email address, topic and message you provide so we can respond. When email delivery is configured, this information is processed by our email delivery provider, Resend.
  • Usage analytics - Google Analytics may receive page URLs, interaction data, browser and device information, and an approximate location derived from your IP address.
  • Request data - our hosting and security providers may process standard request information such as IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamps.

Cookies & ads

EveryFileTool stores your language preference in a cookie and local storage, and stores display preferences such as theme in your browser. Google Analytics may set analytics cookies when it is active.

Advertising may be enabled through Google AdSense. When enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver and measure ads. EveryFileTool does not currently require an account, so it does not set login or profile cookies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • Request access to, correction of or deletion of contact information you submitted.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your personal information.
  • Clear preference and analytics cookies through your browser settings.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date shown on this page. Continued use of EveryFileTool after a change means the revised policy applies to your use of the service.
