Why File Processing Can Fail
Diagnose invalid files, browser memory pressure, damaged inputs and processing interruptions.
Updated August 27, 2026If processing fails, first confirm that the file is valid, within the displayed limit, and supported by your browser. Then retry with fewer open tabs and keep the EveryFileTool tab active.
Possible causes
- The extension looks correct, but the file contents use another format.
- The file is incomplete, damaged, encrypted, or restricted.
- The browser cannot decode the image, video, or audio codec.
- Decoded pages, pixels, frames, or batch results exceed available memory.
- The tab was closed, suspended, refreshed, or placed in the background.
- A required runtime, language file, model, or worker could not load.
What to do
- Open the original in a trusted desktop application to confirm that it is readable.
- Check the formats and limit shown in the tool's upload area.
- Try one file at a time and use less demanding output settings.
- Close other large tabs and applications, then reload the tool.
- Keep the device awake and the tab open until processing finishes.
- If possible, save a fresh copy of the source in a broadly supported format and retry.
Do not repeatedly process an important original without keeping a backup. A failed operation does not replace the source file, but a later downloaded result should still be inspected before use.
